THE CONCEPT Heights shop from Avi Katz, owner of well-regarded Katz Coffee, and Houston attorney Gregg Goldstein offering classic New York-style bagels made fresh daily. THE SPACE A former warehouse on White Oak has been turned into a light-filled space with clean lines, subway tiles, a coffee counter and plenty of seating. Check out the colorful mural by Houston artist Wiley Robertson. THE FOOD There are six to 10 bagel varieties, as well as bialy, on the menu daily, including classic plain, poppy seed, sesame and "everything." Golden also makes more than a dozen cream cheese spreads, house-made lox (cured salmon) and nova (cured and cold smoked salmon). Bagel sandwiches are on the menu, too.
